Post subject:  OEM Side Mirror - Kool Vue?

I am looking for a replacement mirror. Is Kool-Vue the company that makes the OEM mirrors? I seem to see them all over the place, and the prices are pretty reasonable ($60 for a power heated mirror assembly).

Just a straight google search for "2005 jeep liberty mirror heated power" or something like that. I found a few sites that had them for $70-$80, and one that was $58(partstrain.com). Some sites have the non-heated manual mirrors for as low as $20.

what I don't know is if these "Kool Vue" mirrors are original equipment or not. The Kool Vue company seems to market themselves as being an OE manufacturer, so maybe they are for jeep?

EDIT: Actually, it looks like the places that have it for $76 w/ free shipping is the way to go. The places that have it for $60 charge $15 shipping anyway.

From what I saw looking at them, they are marketed as OEM quality replacements. I'll have to grab a set of these down the road. Thanks for the info on these!

In case anyone is curious, you need a 3/8" DEEP SOCKET to remove/replace a mirror. If you take all the trim off and find that you only have normal sockets you'll have to put it all back together and drive to Sears to get a set of deep sockets.

I lied, it's actually 10mm. It was hard to guess when the socket wouldn't actually fit. Installation was a snap once I had the deep sockets, though.

My review so far:

Looks just like factory. No way anyone would be able to tell it was an aftermarket replacement. Easy installation.

Cons:
- The grommet for going through the frame is the wrong size. Unfortunately, there's no way to replace it since the connectors are too large to fit through it.
- The mirror shakes. A lot.

I found a brand new take-off power/heated/auto-dim for mine on eBay after it got knocked off by some idiot driver. I paid $45 incl. shipping.
