Hi, We have had 9 straight days of nonstop rain up in the North East, Mass to be specific.I was just wondering if any peeps around our location had done any high water forging over these rainy flooded out days.I went up to my door jams a few times (FUN)!!! It's kinda cool when you dont have to go off road to go off roading  ..

Lots of on-road wheeling in Boston. There were a few places on Nonantum road (north side of the Charles heading from Watertown into Cambridge) where rain + river = a current going down the hill into the river directly across the road. At least 6-8 inches of water in a lot of places.

On my way to the Foo Fighters / Weezer concert in Worcester, I rescued somebody from a 2 foot deep sinkhole. He was pulling off the road into a dirt lot to turn around and his left front tire just dropped in up to the bumper. Photos were taken afterwards:

(Apologies for the photos, I only had my PDA with me)

It's what I like to call "Urban Wheelin' " I hit quite a few LARGE puddles myself this weekend. I hit one that completely covered the Jeep. Hit at about 25 - 30 mph (at night, couldn't see it), a wall of water just came up over the hood and windsheild. Scared my daughter too  My son just thought it was great 8)

Just about every puddle in cambridge was deep enough for a windshield coating. I normally like to speed through puddles, but these were to the point where I'd actually be driving blind for more than the normal split second, so I had to slow down a bit. Jeep got a good washing :-) I now have a gripe about the wipers - they are just NOT fast enough to keep up with puddle-jumping. I had them on max speed and they weren't keeping up.

I agree about the wipers. You really are forced to puttputt through heavy water. I know that you shouldn't be going that fast anyways but .whats the fun in going slow through water like that..

CT was the same way. I hit some huge puddles all weekend. I also went down som back roads and found where there was a ton of overflow onto the street. It was covered with mud and rocks, a lot of fun.

I went out yesterday looking for mud pits to play in, now I have to spend a day cleaning the Jeep (it was worth it)
