Post subject: | condensation in gas tank? |
How much condensation builds up in a gas tank if driven only a few miles each day? I probably fill my KJ once a month. I’ve had my Jeep almost a year and have only logged 5,000 miles on her. I’ve noticed that the Jeep is sometimes hard to start when the weather is below 25 degrees. I’m going to start putting “HEET” in the tank as a water remover. Just wondering. |

If you are only driving it that much then yes I would put it in every tank or so. Also if some of your stations are like in Ohio then you also get a good gallon of moisture/water/crap as well! trade me for a while and then I can get the moisture out and put some miles on it for you! ![]() Tom |

trade me for a while and then I can get the moisture out and put some miles on it for you! ![]() Tom Thanks Tom! When we lived at 7,000 feet in the mountains of New Mexico we drove much further to work. There were some COLD mornings in which the temperatures shown 10-20 degrees below Zero. During those winter months, if “HEET” wasn’t added, then the vehicle may not start. For sure, a diesel needed to be plugged in. Anyway, I sold my Tahoe with 247,000 miles for the KJ. Now that we have moved we only have a mile to drive to work. |
