I started my jeep and had it idling for about 3 minutes in 50-degree weather and the engine fan came on. Does it normally come on under mild conditions like that?

Just trying to find clues as to why my radiator pressure cap is leaking.

In my old truck I don't ever recall the engine fan coming on. That's why I ask.

The Radiator Cap leaks over time.. The rubber gasket that seals the overfill bottle wears with time and causes the leak.

The fan kicks on every time I start the Jeep and then turns off a few minutes later. Yours might be coming on because of the leaky cap and a loss of pressure in your cooling system.
