I have an 03 sport with stock batt. I have noticed in the last few weeks the KJ takes longer to turn over, and sounds like it does not want to start at times when it is COLD. other days above 35* it will start no problem. I am guessing the batt is on the way out. Also the little indicator window on the batter was green at one time, now it is black.

Time to replace I guess.

Group 25 for the 2002 and some early 2003 models if you don't want to trim out the battery tray. Go Optima RedTop and forget about your battery

Take your Jeep to a local AutoZone or other parts store, they usually check your battery for you at no charge. No need to buy something you don't need!

I goth their Platinum with a little bigger CCA's then what was stock replacement. At the $80.00 price tag I went for it since I didn't have the funds for a Red Top

Bosch 700CCA from PepBoys. $80, which includes 3-year/36-month jump start warranty. I had to replace my factory battery after 4-1/2 years because starts were weak, and I didn't want to go into winter knowing my battery probably wouldn't last. The KJ starts like new now.
