I cannot find a quality 90w or a 75-140w synthetic gear oil locally (shipping too expensive). I do not tow or have the tow package. I can find Royal Purple 85-140w synthetic gear oil. Can anyone see any issues?
Aloha

Aloha! [Nice place to visit]

You can run Royal Purple until you can find a shop that carries something better. Royal purple is decent stuff, but recent testing [Q the amsoil people] indicates that the protection isn't as nice.

You would be better off buying Mobil 1 Gear oil, Castrol Syntec gear oil or Redline over the RP if you can get them. There is a dealer in HI for Amsoil but not sure if you are on the same Island. (so there is the shipping again)

I would prefer Redline or Amsoil, sometimes living on a rock in a pond has it's disadvantages.

The Mobil 1 and even GM synthetic tested better than the Redline for the gear oils.
