I'm headed for the Indianapolis Expo this weekend 14-17th, and I would like to find out from some locals about the weather out there for the weekend. Yes, I know weather.com can be pretty good but I want to hear from you. What to wear would be great too , I haven't been back east for a couple years  Thanks a bunch for any help !! 8)

I am a little ways away, but always watch what the weather is doing there, but the way it looks low to mid 30s, snow coming through now plus Friday and Sunday from what they just said on the news, so dress warm!! Have fun in Indy! Wish I was going.... hint... hint

I'm up in Michigan (not too far from Mudd) but it's been cold here recently. My recommendation is to dress in layers. Bring a sweatshirt or two or sweater. Real shoes and socks go a long way to keep the cold out of your legs.

Have fun - stay warm.

Was stationed in Indy for 3 years, left about two years ago, So I'm going on historic data :)

1st thing about Indiana...The weather changes constantly. It will be freezing, or cold, or a little warm for the season. During your stay, it will probably rain, or snow, but maybe bright and sunny. Definitely windy sometimes, but 30 minutes later not a breeze around.

I'd dress warmly overall. Bring a heavy jacket, and a windbreaker, sweater, and long sleeves.

I'm 3 hours North of Indy along Lake Michigan and we are looking to be in the 20's this weekend. Like the others have said, it's best to dress in layers and expect the worst, but at least you can take layers off if it decides to warm up a little. Hope you enjoy Indy!

Thank you everybody for the weather info. I appreciate the input.

Right now it's about 60+ here with the sun shining and birds chirping just like it's springtime. Why am I going out there again??

Seriously though, here's a link to the expo if you are curious to see what it is all about: http://www.dealerexpo.com/dealerexpo/v42/index.cvn

It's not open to the general public but if you are a shop/business and have credentials you can still register for free on the site. I will be at the BlueRibbon booth through Sunday.

i'm about 40 minutes southeast of indy.
expect it to be a little slick. we're gettin' ice and snow right now, with a promise of more to come. all week, we'll have a mix of rain, snow, and ice. won't likely stack up very hi, but will make for some super slick spots.
expect it to be temps in the teens at nite, and with a little luck as high as 32 at day. and like the guy said, windy one hour, still the next!

since you're comin from a warm spot, better bring ya some arctic gear! 32 doesn't seem very cold to me, but it'll surely freeze your cute little legs off!

if you get the chance, go to "the Slippery Noodle" of an evening or nite. best live music in town. i believe you can still get a good steak in the afternoon/evening too! just ask, everybody knows where it's at.

I'm 15 minutes north of Indy, but I've been off the boards for a few weeks. Sorry I missed the weather Q&A. Maybe next time.

Home safe and sound. Thanks again to all who participated in the thread, I appreciate the help.

I didn't get a chance to make it to the famous "Slippery Noodle" for the Blues but I sure did hear about it and saw the after effects of a hard night partyin' and then having to do the 'proffessional appearance' the next day! I was in bad enough shape just from jet lag!

I'll keep everybody posted as to when and where we might pop up out there in the East :D I would like to see VLLS classes put together out there to get more troops trained for land use issues and what not. It's really a great class that Del puts on. You can check out more about the class on his website www.delalbright.com and hit the training link. Just drop me note if you're interested.

And, for sure let me know if any one is going to be out this way to do the Rubicon 8)
