 Post subject: got a rusty's 2.5 inch lift.....

It is a pretty simple lift to install. One thing to note...if you got the white no name shocks with the Rusty's lift then make sure to add about three washers on each side of the top mounting point to make it fits tight or other wise it will be noisy in the rear. Good luck!!!

When we had my wife's 04 KJ I installed new shocks, Rough Country and I had noise from the back. I took em back out a week later and added washers and the noise stoped.

It would be better if you did it the 1st time, and while you have the wheel off.

Take the struts to an auto shop if you don't have a spring compressor. Make sure that they get that spring retaining nut on the top all the way down and that there are the same number of threads showing on each strut. If this nut is not tightened all the way down, you will get a constant rattle and clunking and the only way to fix it is to take your suspension apart again.

I used a wedge of oak 5/8" x 1" x 1 1/8" to hammer into the clevis clamp. This will hold the clamp open just enough to make it easy to remove and install the strut from the clevis fork.
