Well, like some of you I have been caught up with the change in part number for the front skid plates from DC.

GOOD NEWS!

IF (and I do Mean IF!) you can find one still on the shelf at a stealership with the old part number (82209026 and around $49.00+-) BUY IT!

The part fits just like it is supposed to. Not sure why the dog and pony show is going on about the change in part numbers and price. One Stealership said it was cuz of the ball joints and another said it was a change in vendors, WHAT EVER!

New Part Number (82210769) is over $80.00 and higher and wont be avaliable to ORDER untill 7/23/07.

I found the old part number in a stealership in Minn. and received it on monday. EXACTLY like the one on my wife's '02, and mounted perfectly on my '07.

Good Luck!

Good to know. I got lucky. I just purchased all 4 skids on Monday, and the dealer said he was hoping to get the engine skid for me from another dealer, and he did! So on they all go next week...sweet!!!
I know some people have put down the mopar skids for not being very stout compared to others available in the after market. I have nothing to compare them against, but they sure seem beefy and stout to me...

The Mopar skids do ok under most conditions, but if you're going to be dropping the full weight of the rig on them, for instace, in the rocks. You'll soon see the reason for the aftermarket skids and the reason they are worth the price. I personally wouldn't take my KJ off road without my sliders however. You can usually get one or the other over or around an obstacle, but something is going to take a hit if you get off road even semi-seriously.
