In mid-february of 2003 I traded in my 1998 Hyudai Tiburon      :P

(at least mine was a SE w/ rims)  :P

for this: + 60 payments of $268 a month.... it had 14 miles on it when I picked it up from the dealership....

Oh and that flexing shot is (Stock suspension) with a lighter in wheel for reference. bad noises came from the rear when i did that.. :? :D

Well those 60 payments are finally over and she is all mine!!!

I've been all over the U.S and have put over Image on my KJ...

and now it looks like this

I wish I still had that Tiburon, I could probably run it over now

Just curious... what did you use to paint your wheels? Ever have any problems with chipping and whatnot? Looks good

The duplicolor wheel paint has lasted all of fall and winter so far...
The only thing i have noticed as of late is a little bit of paint on the fifth wheel where the empty lug nut holes are...
Pretty darn good for $40 bucks though
I am going to resand and apply more in the spring..
I did not use a clear coat so I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has (especially with all of the salt on the roads)... I liked the flat black to much to add a clear coat... but they do make one..

Did you have the tires removed from the rims at the time? I'm guessing so... not sure if it would still look that good if you painted them while the tires were still on... :?:

:D I just covered the tire with blue tape and newspaper... and sprayed away.... After a lot of sanding/cleaning of course.. But I did take the rims/tires off of the jeep though

I'm considering the same treatment to my stock 6 spoke wheels. Only I'm thinking of stripping the finish first then paint only the lower portions of the wheels first with an epoxy black. Then mask the lower painted parts of the wheels then on the Raised edges applieing a Red Metal Flake and while still wet sprinkle on Highway Sign grade Glass Beads to give the raised edges and outer part of the rims a reflective quality. Then finally apply multiple coats of Crystal Clear Epoxy all over. Once fully cured use new SS wheel nuts and have Stock style wheels that nobody else has. It takes a lot of thought patients and time to acheive this effect but once completed your patience will be rewarded.

Looks great. I like the wheels allot too. Did you have plastic cladding on the wheel which you had to remove from the wheels or did you just have to sand it?

How about some close up shots pls?
