How far do you need to extend it? Did you try flipping the factory one over? That will tilt it a little and raise it too so it isn't in the way of the hitch on the RL bumper. (for example) |

Either mine was upside down compared to everyone else's from the factory, DC flipped them over on '05 Ltd's, or the original owner turned it over. Either way, when I tried flipping it over after putting the LT245/70R17 Silentarmor and oem rim on the clearance actually got worse. I flipped it back over and stuck about 5 washers on the top studs to have just enough clearance for the glass to clear the spare. |

Thats weird, I have 265/75/16's with the carrier facing the correct direction and have no clearance issues at all. |

My only real clearance issue was w/ the Rock Lizard bumper and factory hitch w/ 245's. Flipped it over and all is well. |

Does this block the flipper glass? |

On a KJ it shouldn't, Though I haven't needed to, the glass clears my 32's fine. For the few that the tire does catch on a couple of washers on the to bolts fixes the problem. This moves the spare up and back. |

This may have as much to do with aftermarket rims with different off-sets than tire size, though. Do you have a different backspace, say 4", that would move the rim further from the body on the same mount? I wonder about a 32" tire on the stock 5" backspaced wheel. |

My '02's back glass hits the mold hairs on a brand-new 245/75-16 MTR and clears the tire itself by about 1/32 of an inch |
