Is there an easy way to access the evaporator to spray it with bleach water and rinse? The stench is getting bad from the A/C :x

I had this issue last year in my 2003. Just spray some lysol at the cowl intake (base of the outside of the windshield) while running the A/C. Don't over do it. I think maybe I hit it with 3 or 4 5-second blasts. Give it a day or two and if you still have the smell repeat it again.

Thanks detroit doc, I bought some lysol last night that I could tolerate the scent. Started blasting the way you suggested this morning, will do it a few more times. Now the inside smells like "morning breeze"

can you take a pic of where you spray? i hate the smell of mine too, but have no idea where to spray? i think it is the spot right under where the windshield meets that plastic between hood and windshield, and it is on the passenger front??

open the hood, on the passenger side there is a long vent, but only the right half is actually open. Spray there. I chose to spray the vent hidden by a closed hood, in case the lysol discolored the black plastic. Make sure your AC is on, fan speed is 3 or 4. You will feel air being pulled in at the vent. Don't use max AC, because that won't draw outside air but recirculate cabin air.
