Post subject:  Strange front-end creaking / groaning noise on cold mornings
I've recently noticed this strange noise coming from the front end every morning when I first drive off. It sounds almost like brake squeak, only deeper. It's very cyclical, speeds up as I speed up, and seems to stop when I lightly touch the brake pedal or simply stop the car. After about 10 mph, it just goes away. The "frequency" of the sound doesn't change as I go faster - only the repitition of it (if that makes sense). It will come back each time I accelerate from a stop -- until things get warmed up.

I'm not sure, but I think it might get a little louder if I turn the wheel during these low speeds.

Since I'm taking the Liberty in tomorrow for a warranty repair, I thought I'd try to get some feedback as to what this might be so the tech will have an easier time figuring it out.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Your front bushings have gone dry. I used a water resistent greese and slathered the sway bar around the bushings, it took two treatments on mine to make it stop that sound.
It was always when it was cold, backing out of the garage, and into the street. After everything warmed up, sound went away.

this water resistent grease; could this be like white lithium grease?

Almost EVERYBODY has or will experience this. It is your swaybar bushings most likely. They need some lube. Easily fixed.

Just make sure the grease is also rubber compatiable, meaning it won't break down the rubber. I bought something at walmart, I don't recall the name but at the same time bought a grease gun to help in the application as I did not know exactly where it was coming from.

When it's cold out, the springs on mine pop or clunk... Or at least I think it's the springs.

I'll try the grease method and see if that helps before the on-set of winter.
