Post subject:  went to the dealer...

well, I went to the dealer to pick up some upper spring isolator pads, and I came out of the parts department only to find...

3 Jeep sales men crawling out from under my Jeep!!!!

Then I asked if I could help them, and they went on asking about the lift and the LOST group, then they showed me the new Liberty brochure, with LOST featured on the 4th to last page!!!
They said that they thought it was a joke until they saw My LOST stickers on the Jeep and that is why they were looking at mine!!!

Now here are my questions...

Why did they not include the website link, and isn't LOST trademarked by Wally???

Why is JJ front and center on the page!?!?!?!?

Does that really present the proper image of LOST, with his frontend as loose as Seattle Slough

Actually...thats Wally on the hill climb in Moab.

Before the camo job his jeep was black (notice the boulderbars sticker is getting major advertising).

The Blue KJ (sideveiw) is Jim Kinsey "tradewindkJ" at camp jeep.

Isn't that crazy to see our club in a piece of DC literature !!!

Check it out on page 32 !!!

I tried to go pick one up and drop off some L.O.S.T. flyers but my local dealer didn't have any brochures.

OK here is the deal. First of all. Jeep contacted me about doing this and ask if it was OK. I gave permission and they also told me they would not be able to add the website because it is a Jeep thing and not for other ads. We are very lucky they wanted to do this at all and man o man...you just dont see this happen much at all it at all.

The KJ in the picture is Ca Wally and we took this on Moab 2 years ago...so this is just another reason you guys better get to planning for Moab 2006.

The other picture is Jim at camp Jeep CA in last year.

we knew about this and approved this and are very thankful they did it. This booklet is handed out to thousands of people every month all across the US. How many other jeep clubs can say they are in a Jeep booklet???

This is only the start guys...We have a small core of guys that are busting butt to make the voices of all you guys heard around the world. Just hang in there till right after the first of the year and we have some more cool stuff coming down the pipes.

You guys just hang in there and be proud you own a KJ

We ain't done yet More to come...
Later...Clint

No Ted ...Please dont think I was thinking that....i just wanted to get all the facts right. And yes you are right for sure. This is going to help all of us in the long run. Again more great things are coming our way. More good things are coming our way.

Just to change the subject a bit...When we have a large group of KJs in a place like Moab...the pictures go a long way. make your plans now. if you think you will not be able to make it in 2006 then please start thinking about 2007.

ask anyone that has made the LOST event in Moab and i would bet that every single person will tell you they had a great time.

later...Clint

My last oil change I asked a salesman if they had any 06 Liberty brochures. He said he didn't think so but would look. I never saw him again. Twenty minutes later, my oil change was done and out the door (checking levels before leaving the lot) I went.

I for one will agree with Clint on Moab. YOU MUST GO! I had my very first off-road experience (aside from our snowmobile trail adventure in Colorado) at Moab and it was AWESOME! I was running stock tires also. Do it! You will learn a lot and have a lot of fun! It will only enhance LOST and your love for your KJ.

Beware though: You will not be able to look at that Easy-Moderate trail near your home the same way again. You will think, "I need more." hahaha!

Ted, perhaps we should get a bunch of LOST KJ's to visit that dealer and show them what we're all about.

congratulations mr. skrracing....you always share the credit but YOU deserve an "attaboy"....

guys, we went to moab at his suggestion....the trail rides were great and we enjoyed meeting everyone....but at the campground, this man was working on other folks jeeps in the dust, in the rain, in the cold, in the dark....night after night...

there were others with wrenches too, but he was setting the example of what the club offers....

thanks again for what you have done for me personally and for the club I'm pleased to be associated with....the lost jeep thing is pretty cool....

Agreed, I hate that option. I drove a 5 speed car with the "quick shift" option and I hated it, just doesnt seem right.

Went to the dlr today for an oil change (free, so I don't bother). Asked if they would hand out some LOST cards in the service dept. Told me they couldn't endorse any group. I then pulled out the 06 brochure and said "Jeep already endorses us, see?" They took the cards. Then I went over to sales and did the same thing. Left them about 200 cards. We'll see if anything happens or if they just toss em.

Does anyone know through contacts with the manufacturer if this will make it too the European brochures too?
I am keen to promote any activities I can in the UK, though not as hardcore in style there is a good following if people could identify with a solid resource, and I can promise Highland scenery too. 8)
