255/55-18 = 29x10.04-18 235/65-17 = 29x9.25-17 The 18-inchers are wider than the 17-inchers. But I don't think you will have a problem with them rubbing. Handy tool for measuring tires sizes: http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html |

Thanks jeepkj02 ,would a spare wheel in the 18" size be needed if running the 18's or would a spare wheel in the 17"inch be ok, wondering if the slight size difference would cause problems with transmission. |

For offroad purposes I would get a full size/matching spare. For street purposes, it would work, but I wouldn't recommend driving with it on for a long time or at high speeds, keep it under 88 kph (55 mph). |

I've got 16"s with Goodyear Atr's for off roading, and some 17"s for the street ,seen some 18"'s at a good price and was considering them also for street use,was wondering if i would need to buy 4 or 5 wheels ,as i've read somewhere that mismatched wheel sizes or even under inflated tyres can cause probs with transmission. |
