I worked out a deal last night to trade my 03 KJ on a new Patriot (MK). Come Tuesday I will be Liberty-less. I'm experiencing KJ withdrawal today. I really was addicted to that Jeep. I'm going to carefully take the LOST decals off tomorrow and put them in a scrap book with pictures of the adventures in the KJ (Moab, Tellico, Black Hills and Badlands). Good memories! :D

The Patriot is to be a daily driver so it will stay stock. The wife has a Compass. So we will soon have two "Street Jeeps." I didn't get the off road package because the Patriot is just for commuting.

But, there is still off roading to be done. We also have a "dislexic" KJ on 35s. (That's a JK for you normal folks).

So my list of Jeep letters now stands at ZJ WJ KJ JK MK MK.

2 or 4 wheel drive? on both the Patriot and the Compass? Thinking of doing a front wheel drive Compass for a DD in the future.

My sister runs a FWD Compass... Despite all the critism everyone has for what the MK isn't. It's a darn good daily driver that gets great mileage and has a decent amount of utility to it.

Good luck in the Future!

Both of the Patriot and the Compass are the 4x4 versions (no low range) because we live in the mountains near ski resorts. Driving in snow up steep hills is a commonplace in the winter.

He's still Jeeper and there are plenty of reasons for JacksJeep to hang around.

JacksJeep - Enjoy the Patriot!

Be sure to stick around and share your Jeep stories and such regardless of which one you are talking about. All Jeeps are welcome to stay LOST!

Thanks Ed and JJ,

I have no intention of leaving LOST, just needed to replace the Liberty. LOST is family. One of these years I'll manage to get back to Moab with all of you (if you'll allow a JK to tag along).

There are plenty of people on here that have gotten rid of their liberties and still come wheeling with LOST in whatever they drive now!

ski resorts?? where at in western PA??? my friend just got a 4wd compass and LOVES it.. it's the same color as my KJ.. so we match. but i've heard nothing but good things about them. how do you feel about the CVT tranny in those? and does the patriot have the same one?

I live off the Donegal exit of the PA Turnpike near Seven Springs and Hidden Valley.

The Patriot has the CVT. The auto press hates it but I like it. However, you can not feel it shifting. Maybe this bugs some people. The Patriot and Compass only differ in body style (and the Patriot can be had with a low range transmission).

A Patriot followed me up Laurel Ridge on route 653. That's over 1200 feet in elevation change in about 2 miles. I was driving my Rubicon Unlimited on 35s with 5.13 gears. I could not run away from him. If he had been in front, I'd not have been able to keep up. Partly this is because a lifted Rubi is not well suited to high speed tight curves.
