Hey all. With fuel being so costly, I've been playing the economy game harder than ever before, with great results. I got 16.5mpg 2 fills ago, and 17.2 on the last one, all in town. I'm granny shifting, going slow, and planning my routes carefully to include the least number of stoplights possible. I just changed my oil today and went with full synthetic for the first time. The Lib seems to idle incredibly smooth now, so maybe I'll see a benefit from it. How are the rest of you doing?

averaging 17 in the city, at sea level with 3"+ lift 32" mud tires. skids, rails, ARB with Warn M8000, lightbar.

No a/c, and taking it easy on the skinny pedal.

My wife is hovering around 17.5 mpg. She's starting to using some hypermiling techniques like neutral coasting to stops, engine off for known long lights, speed reduction, and parking so she doesn't have to back out. It's helping.

Here's her gas log on GasSavers.org

I have been averaging a little better then 17 on my way to work keeping it under 70 MPH. I do attribute that to the summer gas and less wind resistance.

I am averaging 16 in the city and about 18 on the interstate. Just changed out the plugs last week and now it runs a little better. No change in MPG though.

I get 18 on the Highway / 16 or so in the city. But with traffic tie ups and all the stop lights - my overall average is down to 15.1 MPG so far this season. It's a Jeep, it will never get fantastic gas mileage.

I averaged about 19 on the way down to Memphis on Sunday:D:D

I expect about 17 on the way back, though, since Memphis to Cincinnati is uphill:(

I'm really amazed at the number of people in a big hurry to stop at a red light.

Yeah, I prefer to just go through them. Better fuel economy that way, and my parents always told me that color doesn't matter:)

There were a number of times where I was able to pull out an average of 18 in town and 24 on the highway. Although it's doing much better now that I have it parked for the summer  I would love to be driving it, especially since I just lifted it, but because I spend most of my time on the highway during these months, it's just makes more sense for me to drive my Festiva. I managed to eak out 53.5 mpg on my last trip. Lots of hypermiling tech. though.

The best I EVER got was 20.5 MPG!!!! Pre-lift, pre-armor, pre-tow hitches and running 215/75R16 STs on a severely speed limited U.S Highway (something like 45-50 MPH MAX and had cops everywhere!!!!!) on the SC coast (at sea-level) on an overcast, cool day in late May with the air conditioner off!!!

Drove from Dallas to New Orleans a couple months ago and averaged a Conservative 23MPG. I Say conservative because I filled up after the light had been on for a while, and I filled up the second time right as the light came on. There may have been a couple miles in between there.

All stock 2WD, only a AMSOil Ultimate Efficiency air filter. No A/C, etc.

Normally, around town in Dallas with the new tires is about 17-21MPG.
