Boy if that isn't a "Why-The-Hell-Didn't-I-Think-Of-That" kind of product. Pretty cool idea. I like it better than, and thik I would use it more than, the big plastic base for sand that I have and never seem to take w/ me. I can think of a few times where that would have improved the traction and safety of a hi-lift on the trail.
Having the replacement base might come in handy in certain situations.

That being said, I can see just adding several grade 5 bolts to the holes in the original base to add some grip in some situations.

A jack foot with claws!!! I could have used that yesterday. Or a couple of weeks ago when I was pulling out a bunch of old fence posts. Sometimes the simple ideas are the best.

Only $5 diff between the add a base and the replacement base. Replacement might save some space/weight but add-on might add some strength and a little height. :?
