Three Toledo area plants have been awarded the best in North America beating out all of Detroit , Japenese and Europeon rivals for how long it takes to make ther products according to the 2008 Harbour Report. Chryslers Toledo Supplier Park which builds the Jeep Wrangler was the most productive vehicle assembly plant in North America producing a Wrangler every 13.57 man hours. GMs Toledo Powertrain plant won in the transmission factory category using just 2.37 hours to build each transmission. Another Chrysler related plant in Dundee MI (Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance) won producing an engine every 1.84 hours . In the article it stated how great it is for Chrysler to have won 2 awards and GM one award all in the same area around Toledo Overall Chrysler and Toyota used the least man hours to build vehicles in North America. The awards do not include the next door factory which produces the Liberty and Nitro here in Toledo |

Chrysler also had the worst JD powers rating in initial quality with Jeep the lowest of their brands. Bragging on this would be like McDonalds bragging they can deliver the fastest burger and fries, except the burger is still frozen in the middle and the fries are soggy. |

I for one have had very very few problems with my 2002 Libby and I am the original owner. Before that was a 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited that was a blast and it has no problems the 3 years I had it. Before that was a 1995 Wrangler which I should have kept for trails but that one also never had any problems. Perhaps I am just lucky, either way I will never buy anything but a Jeep...unless that get more butt ugly designs ![]() |

I agree. I guess I would rather my door rattle than my tranny fail though. Its great that gm can build those trannies fast! ![]() Jeep has probably always gotten the worst rating from people like JD power. Funny that weve never had any problems with our 4 Jeeps. ![]() |

So do you really read what crap JD Powers puts out? They have never liked Jeep and never will, as far as producing vehicles and hamburgers ![]() ![]() ![]() |

JD Power is kind of tricky. They have many, many surveys throughout the year. A vehicle that may be great on one can be marginal on the next, depending on wording and what the poll is actually looking for. For many of the polls, it seems to be getting the factories on board supporting the use of THEIR surveys. $$$$ is my guess. For me, I did have a water pump go out at 17,000 miles. It was taken care of quickly and I was treated well. I have no complaints. If you don't like your vehicle, for god's sake ( your choice of which one) get rid of it & don't waste your time moaning about it. |

If you don't count the LBJ's, the only problem i ever had was when the radio quit working after 1 year. |
