Warn SDB-160 Driving Lights (Updated Pictures)

My lights were delivered today and I got them all wired and mounted. The wiring was STUPID easy. Harness came pre-assembled, all I had to do was clip the two relays into place, plug the switch in, ground two wires, run power to the relays and plug the lights in. Mounting on the other hand was a pain. The lights are about 5 1/2 inches deep with the stud for mounting sitting roughly in the middle, there was no way to have the lights mounted on the bumper like everyone has their Hella 500's that are much shallower. So I made a little trip to one Home Depot....then another Home Depot and finally ended up at Lowes. I was looking for 2 inch square tubing. Both Home Depots only had 1 inch tubing...Lowes had 1 1/2 (The stainless stuff with all the holes in it) which did just fine. I Cut two pieces rougly 4 inches long. Drilled a hole in the bumper about an inch from the grill and 3 1/2 from the left/right edge for the inner part of bumper (Thanks for posting these dimensions Corwyyn). Put a two inch carriage bolt through the tubing down through the bumper and tightened it down. Then mounted the lights to the top tubing. In the end it worked out just like I had planned

. As far as the lights go...good lord are they bright. The low beam function on the lights is nearly as bright as the stock high beams...and the high beam function is ridiculous. The quality is definitely noticeable, extra steps were taken when these lights were designed (as reflected in the price

) I'll post some pics of the mounting tomorrow in the daytime, for now heres a night shot

Sorry for the crappy quality on this one, the lens was fogging up on the camera, but you get the idea.

1 1/2 inch stainless tubing wrapped in electrical tape, carriage bolt pounded into one of the holes.
Then the light mounted to the tubing. Short of ripping them off the bumper or getting underneath with a 9/16 socket, swivel socket and 6 inch extender (Which everyone carry's with them right

) they are pretty theft "proof". Theres no way to get the light off the tubing without getting the tubing off the bumper and unbolting them from the bottom side.

They are sweet, but don't they cost a fortune compared to others out there. If not, please let me know where you got them and for how much. :wink:

I agree, the price was quite steep. I ordered them from Amazon for 316$. Normally I would never buy such an expensive light or anything really that expensive for that matter but I had the money in my Amazon account from selling books from school so I figured...hell half the books I never even opened why not buy something I'll actually use

I have the SDB-210's and I would highly recomend them to anyone. I paid only about 360, and they are much bigger than the 160's. Both are bright, but a friend of mine has the 160's and I can out shine him.

Having dual beams is awesome. low beam for rain and fog, high beam for deep woods and highway. The quality of the lights themselves, and of the bullet proof wiring harness are worth every bit of the price.

Also the 210's fill out the ARB bumper better, unlike hellas or similar KCs. Others just look too small surrounded by the bull bar part of the bumper.

Oh and if you want to spend some serious $$$ check out warn's HID series
