ordered up 2 new injectors for my CRD #1 and #4 are bad... anyone have any issues replacing that #4 injector? looks to be partly under the lip of the firewall.

ordered them up form OFI, seemed like a fare price. first time my CRD has been out of commission.... missing it already. though I have only had it for 3+ years

How did you diagnose the bad injectors?
Did a shop test them for you?

They are damaged, one is cracked, the other leaking fuel though the cap and out where the wires attach.... I was hopeful when pulling them but the one got cracked on extraction though the sludge that a leaking seal caused to build up (discovered when putting silicone air tubes in) the other was discovered when inspecting for other leaks and diesel building up on the intake.

I'm not sure why I had seals failing after 40k since dodge rebuilt the head (I got this jeep just paying for that bill)... perhaps the shop was not used to diesels and tourqued them incorrectly

Uggggghhhh....diagnosing a wiring problem...it started with just the lefthand running tail light out at night (brake lights still work when brake pedal pressed). I will have to buy myself a new circuit tester.

We picked up a vintage tent trailer on the weekend (I totally and seriously LOVE the smell of old canvas) and I found out after the purchase that our 4-pin isn't powering up the trailer lights. I suspect a fuse issue or bad ground since it works with the PO's vehicle.

Side note on the trailer - got it for $500 (Canadian, which is like $6.22 to you guys right now), but the metal frame is solid, plywood floor is in pretty good shape, a-frame, wiring and swivel jack are new, plus it has a 'cage' for a 20lb LP tank. This is not a fancy piece of hardware though. Very basic accommodations. perfect.

Some friendly advise; get yourself a Digital Display Circuit Tester type test light. The best circuit tester I have ever owned or used! It beats old style test lights in every respect!!! One of the better tools that I have purchased lately!
It is so good that I rarely drag out my digital test meter anymore; no need to when using this circuit tester...
It shows RED on positive circuits, and GREEN on negative circuits
• Surge protected circuitry displays 3—19.99 V DC (–± 0.3 V accuracy)
• Computer safe <10mA circuit draw for confident testing

I bought a SnapOn Tools version, but there are others out there that do not cost quite as much!

8) She's packed away for the winter, nice and dry....because YUP we got snow...about 25 cms (close to 10").

Here are a couple shots after bringing her home (I used to talk about my kids this way...)

Open, it's like this Heilite trailer, more or less. It has the tent material going sideways rather than front-back in newer tent trailers. The one in this link is in pristine shape like 9/10, ours is about a 7/10. But I will very likely be modding and updating it. Just one more project lol :-)r

Thanks buddy!! Haven't heard of these, but will check them out. I'm going to go get a couple spare taillight assys this weekend just in case (case of beer for these and a couple other doodads).

CRD lives again!

It is amazing how much power I had lost due to the small leak around the injector. Though I found the starts of 2 more leaks once I started replacing the rear injector due to fuel leaking into the plug and decided to just replace all the copper gaskets.

originally I had just bought the gaskets, in case I saw signs of leaks, to address the major leakage with all the black death coming up on my number one cylinder...

I got my seals form IDparts, 2 rebuilt injectors form OFI and used this forum for torque specs and priming info related to the high pressure pump.

Turns out...it was a bad fuse...#23 iirc in the dash compartment on the side. Not sure what caused it to go yet, but the lights are all working again.

Also, picked up a Viair 88P, added 10psi to my 32s in about 30 seconds per tire! Took much longer to put it away than to air up. Impressive.

Also, the new skid I put on is looking a bit janky, which I'm actually starting to like. It does the trick painted or not.

Little snack while out and about (Ontario, Canada)

Took off front drive shaft to get rebuilt at shop.

Driving back to Flagstaff from Phoenix today and I broke my tensioner pulley, bearing seized. Serpentine belt also went with the incident. Had to repair it on I-17 40 miles South of Flagstaff. Quick and easy but not an ideal spot, although I did see Sedona while waiting!

put on new tires... pro-comp tires were on sale with rims so decided it was time 245/75r16's small bit of rubbing but plan on flattening the pinch weld and doing away with the bumper this weekend. have a new bumper and some goodies to install the next few days.
