At the same time we could have a pool to see who can most closely guess how many times you say "stay away from spacer lifts." :P

Friday -- had the radiator replaced. Leaking at upper left.
This replaced the 1st replacement radiator I had installed in 2010.
So, stock radiator lasted about 8 years, Radiator Barn unit lasted 7 years.
I didn't install this one myself this time.

Interesting side happening. I rewired My radiator fan through a separate relay that is controlled from the stock relay ( which had had multiple failures) . I think the mechanic thought it was all manual control. He asked me if I could turn it on to show that my new wiring was all placed back correctly. ( He had only unhooked it from the fan, but only laid the rest back out of the way.) I said " Sure. It will start with the air conditioner." And i turned the knob to A/C. BANG. The pressure line of the A/C system let go at just that instant and erupted in a cloud of refrigerant.
New hose is coming, no A/C meanwhile. The mechanic, Larry, was fortunate it hadn't sprayed right into his face.

Just did my front diff fluid as well; it came out looking like dirty motor oil.. thinner than I expected as well. Surprised by how simple it was and by how not tight the drain plug was.

last month we did a big Euro trip with all our family: myself, wife, 2 sons (9 and 12 y.o.) Can't say it was an easy vacations, but we did have fun :)
Some pics from Spain

And here is the view from our apartment in Spain

looks quite wild, doesn't it? I loved being away from touristic center! Quiet and not too expensive.

Airflow, the included instructions were crap, their template was crap, and the 30 days shipping was crap. Though I like the snorkel.

Added a three plugin accessory module in the space just left of the OEM power plugin. It came with 3M double sided tape to mount it!
It has a single on/off power switch on the far left so I can control power to three items at once and it has a replaceable fuse.
I really like it!
I found it at Walmart of all places!

Image

Sure beats having to cut off satellite receiver, phone charger, and GPS separately every time I shut Jeep off and I did not have to do a bunch of fancy wiring with a power relay...

Removed the cam position sensor by accident, then cleaned the MAP sensor as intended. It was not very dirty.

Spent the rest of the day building a rock wall.

I had been wondering if that exact unit would fit. But I want to get one constant on in there so I can leave my dash cam on for short stops.

On mine the power plug (cig lighter) is hot (on) all the time even with the ign switch off.
So if you leave the little switch in the on position on the left side of the unit, all three plugs will stay hot (on) all the time!
That is why I like it, I can kill power to three items at once simply by flipping the switch to OFF!

And the unit fits into the space with room to spare....

Bought Pensoil Syncromesh Fluid last week for my NSG370, and if it warms up, I'm going to be swapping fluid today.

Removed the EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold, around back of the engine, to the heat exchanger. What I thought was going to be a 1-hour job took 5 hours. Just my luck: the inaccessible bolt and clamp on the back of the engine are in excellent shape. Took quite a bit of twisting and tugging to get the pipe out. It finally slid out to the driver's side like the sausage coming out of a Pig in a Blanket.

Used the red high temperature gasket sealer to seal the plug on the exhaust manifold. That helped by allowing it to set up a while before attempting to put the V-band clamp on. That bugger is a PITA alone.

Engine sounds much better now without the exhaust leak at the output of the wort cooler -- oops, I mean exhaust cooler.

Dean.
