| Post subject: | TPMS light issues.... any ideas |
Hey, for about 4 months now, my TPMS light on my 04 liberty turns on randomly... I've got a limited 04, with the TPMS and EVIC which shows the pressure of each tire, now this light will come on the dash, doesnt flash or anything just pop on, stay on for 4-5 minutes, and then turn off, and do it again about 20 minutes later, funny part is dealer says "it's okay you've got good pressure in all the tires" or my favorite "we ran the computer but couldn't find anything" Dam gremlins... i was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas |

Have you tried training the sensors? |

Yea, i've trained them twice with the magnet... and i had the dealer do it too just to make sure... and still to nothing, i thought broken sensor (but they all work, i've drained the air and the EVIC told me low pressure[then re-inflated]), so now i started thinking about interference |

You check the spare too? To me it sounds like one of your tires is slightly low on pressure, then as you drive it heats up, causing enough of an increase in pressure to turn the light off. |

originaly i thought the same thing, b/c that's what happens in the winter, but all 5 tires checked out with 34-36psi, but the funny thing is, when one tire really is low on pressure, the EVIC will tell me which one and the pressure, and the dash light will come on... the issue i have is that the EVIC is working, but the dash light just decides to come on for what appears like no reason, and it doesnt flash either, b/c flashing means there is an issue with the system... i have to change my tires soon so when the tires are off i might have them double check the sensors, and maybe the recievers in the wheel wells... not to go off topic, but has anyone tried the Goodyear Fortera Silent armor, or could recomend a better tire (235/65 R17) |

Yea, Ive heard of some that run that tire and like it. Personally I think there are other tires out there that are cheaper and just as good. Im not much on goodyear tires anymore though. Do you know where those receivers are in the wells? Ive looked my Jeep over a thousand times and Ive never seen them. I figured they started doing that on the 05+ libertys and thats why weve got to train them on the 04 libertys. |

Well i was under the impression that the reciever for each tire was in the wheel well, but then again i've known to be wrong... either way, i figure my truck is experencing some kind of interferance, or the system is malfunctioning personaly i never really found a problem with the good old days when you could test the tire pressure yourself, or had the little tire cap that would change from green to yellow or red...but now that i have it, it's just another level of lazy |
