I was driving in a parking lot, just as I started to make a slight left turn...BANG...click click click. Real loud and lasted about 5 seconds. I was in 2 WD. No idiot lights, no service codes, I checked under the whole truck, checked all boots and CV's and checked everything under the hood. I also can not get it to duplicate the noise.

Any ideas?

Terry

Sounds like my locker did sometimes.

Did you check the front driveshaft? Strange that it did it when you were turning. Are you sure you didnt accidentally move the 4wd shifter back some? Has anyone else driven it lately?

All of the above were VERY GOOD possibilities, but........it was the window regulator! After I got home I tried to lower the drivers side window and a cable came up beside the glass.

TOTAL COST: $423.25

I'm going to start a separate thread asking who had a regulator go out. Then print it out and send it to Chrysler with a copy of my bill and ask for reimbursement. Not much of a chance but what the heck, it's worth a try I guess! That $423.25 can buy a tank of gas!

Terry

PS: I'm happy that I gave you guys something to have a little fun with!

Has you warranty expired? If not it should be covered under warranty. Good luck.

$423.25  Mine right rear window regulator failed last week, the window had dropped into the door overnight. I thought I had just forgotten to roll the window up, but when I tried to roll it up, it just made horrible mechanical destruction sounds then went silent.

The cost of the regulator, part# 04589266AB was $81.00 Canadian. They quoted me two hours of labour, but since it was under warranty it was all no charge.

I would look at your bill and see just what you were charged for. When the Service Dept looked at the book time for this job, it was two hours. Apparently it is also a body shop job because the door panel has to come off. I do not think the mechanics ever went near my Jeep. They had to talk to the body shop manager to find an available person to do the job and it sure seemed like he was used to that question.
