My drivers side window regulator went out. It cost me a total of $423.25 to get it fixed. The passenger side is thinking about it also! I want a list of everyone that has had this happen because I am going to print it out and send it to Chrysler along with a copy of my bill. It won't do any good but it will make me feel better!

So lets here from all of you guys.

Terry

This is just a quick search of "broken and window and regulator"

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... +regulator

Perhaps you could do a more thorough search:) I think there's been a thread just like this before.

My driver's side window is down in the door as we speak.

That makes 3 for me

My back window on the drivers side went out with under 9,000 miles on my 2007 KJ. The window was used maybe once or twice the entire time I have owned it. Repaired under warranty, but I'm very nervous about the future.

My front driver's side is acting finicky and I am sure it is on the verge of failure given the history of these things.

Is there any way to maintain these so as to prevent this from happening? Like oiling them or lube or something? Anything?

Ive tried my best to figure out whats breaking on them but no one seems to know or just doesnt post it.

JJkj said there is a plastic tube that broke but idk what that is without pics. I personally would like to try and fix one myself.

I don't have any pictures, but the cable mounts to the window track with a plastic bracket. The cable itself goes into that plastic bracket at a point off to the side via a small plastic tube, about an inch long, not much thicker than a straw. Every one that I have had break is at that tube. I've tried JB weld and several other methods, to get it fixed, but haven't been able to figure a way to fix it.

Do you think anything can be done as preventative before they break at this spot i.e. insulated and duct taped, epoxy, or something to be proactive after the warranty expires?

My window was making a lot of noise going up. The service manager said they do that right before they break. As I stated in the first post my passenger side front is going also. It is noisy! I think I'm going to take it apart and have a look.

Here is what this mess looks like. The regulator is the piece in the middle. I don't know which piece is the "plastic piece" that breaks.
