Jeepinbyal has been working on a hydrogen system for our 3.7L. The last I heard, he was receiving 28 mpg running his lift and 32” tires. He’s hoping to have his kit out on the market soon for sale. Those who are worried about fuel prices or keeping the Jeep as a daily driver might find some relief soon.

My employer has been working on an oxyhydrogen system for a few months, now. It's in the final testing phases. He's got it installed in a 2008 GMC p/u that had never gotten better than 18mpg before. On his last road trip, he claims that it was pulling 24mpg and that was with almost 2 tons in the back.

I don't care what anyone says about it... I plan on increasing my mileage as soon as my boss will sell me a kit.

It’s a fact that hydrogen works, as a matter of fact, there was a patent on a hydrogen system back in the late 1940’s. Other than Marlin @ Jeepinbyal, I know another guy who has designed his own hydrogen system that works really well. With several months of real world driving, he has yet to find a flaw with the system. I haven’t talked to Marlin extensively about his Kit, but I do know that he hopes to have it available very soon. It’s not a matter of getting the kit to work, it’s a matter of perfecting the kit for ultimate efficiency. Either way, this is the biggest break-through upgrade for the KJ that has ever touched this forum.

I'm not from Missouri but someone would have to show me. I hope it's true but time will tell.

At what cost? There has been many poeple here in CO that have done that stupid conversion and they all have had to have a engine replaced.Sooner or later you will destroy your engine, that is fact.

The whole theroy is a joke also since you can not create energy, only change it's state which ALWAY'S takes more energy to do.In the long run it will cost you more $$$$,kinda defeating the whole purpose.I've gotten a best of 22.3mpg's with my 5500lbs KJ from Denver to Colorado springscoming back from MOAB in April, getting good mpg's can be done but snake oil gizmo's are not the answer to do it,it's good maintance and making sure your vehicle is in 100% running condition.I bet if I lost all my armor that same trip would have been over 26mpg's.

I lent my scan gage 2 to a fellow at work to test his system he got a seeming 5 to 6 mph gain, he thought. but he also modifyed the 02 and map signals. He was pulling a 20A load on his converter. He had all the signals switched so he could turn on or off the mods. he shut off the HHO converter and the milage gain remained .this was hwy driving we think he just leaned the heck out of the mixture. Burn your valves ?

Look, from a conversation of energy standpoint its just not possible to increase your mileage. And anyone who thinks otherwise is a dipstick who needs their lugnuts retorqued.

The only way it might be able to make ANY difference would be if it was able to change the burn so that more gasoline was combusted.

Course, by the time that can happen a bunch of other factors come into play, any one of which could be adjusted on its own and would probably give the same results, heck just running the car real lean on the edge of detonation would do the same thing, but would also drastically reduce the lifespan of the engine.

How serious are you? I'll sell you a CRD motor and all the wiring and computer for $2,500. IF not, then I'm putting it on ebay.

If my motor was shot and I didn't only have 40,000 miles on it, I'd buy it from you in a second Diesel-e

Does anyone know how much fabrication would need to be done? Would I need a new cradle? Will it bolt up directly to the 5 speed? The answers to these questions will determine how serious I am 8) I know I'll need to get a heavier suspension..

It'll cost you closer to $10,000 to do a CRD swap,if you do all the work yourself.

*slowly backs away* 8)

I want to do it, but I guess I'll have to wait until I'm out of college.

This topic pops up on the other boards I frequent and the general consensus is that initially it will show some improvement but after 2-3 tanks with the Hydrogen device, the engine computer will adjust the air fuel mix and set you back to the same MPG you had before the modification unless you can figure a way to fool it by changing the voltage reading from the O2 sensors.
