Post subject:  how i would change the KK

I was looking at a pic of the KK model last night and i got to messing around a little in photoshop to see if it was possible to improve it's looks...IMHO the headlights are an eye sore and the front has too much of a lowrider look, hardly offroad friendly, it seems. (On a good/side note, the interior room on these things are bad@ss and the back seats fold flat..im jealous!) Anyway here's the photoshop chop before and after...

- added headlight covers to "break up" all of that headlight
- chopped the sagging front bumber/airdam area
- and added those fun riveted fender flares just for S&G's
((of course i could've gone crazy with the changes by adding a lift w/bigger tires and blacking things out and accessorizing but i was just messing around with the basics to see that with a couple small changes would do to earn my own seal of approval!))

Disclaimer: No Jeeps were harmed during this photo chop. No offense is intended towards any current KK owners, this was all in good fun

That actually looks much better. Forward it to Jeep.

the black trim headlights do look nice.......but also blend with the color of the jeep poorly, that combination would look better on some other colors of jeeps.

example:

I know its also had a color change, but you get the idea.

the whole front end needs revamped in my book, none of it goes together well, does not flow well, the fronts of the fenders flowing into the front bumper looks like it was a last minute thought, of course the lights are just butt ugly but with colors around them somewhat better. Oh well it will not be around long enough to matter anyways

I would do anything to have that jeep.

Chrysler should fire all their designers and hire the guys and gals of LOST to do the designs... ...well maybe not fire but they should definitely use us as a consultant. They could pay LOST a fee for site maintenance and we could say go or no go... 8)

LOL - good idea in theory.

But have you ever seen the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" episode of The Simpsons? Here is a car built by the everyday guy, with no thought to real requirements, feasibility or cost of production:

Thinking like that got us the Compass.

I kid, I kid...!

There should be a horn here, here, and here...because you can never find the horn when you're angry...and they should all play LA CUCARACHA!

I like it, if i may recommend one thing. Instead of the grill being upright, how about having it lean back a little bit? Like on the KJ's. Send it to Chrysler.

I wasn't a fan of the headlights at first either, but they grew on me. Overall, I have no complaints about the looks of my KK for what it is.

I think a black KK would look nice with the whole headlight lense tinted with VHT NightShade or something. I'm going to get some red masking tape and play around with my lights, similar to how scarletbegonias did. I'll post pics when I do so.

I'm sorry, not trying to offend KK owners, but... I still can't tell the difference between the Commanders and the KKs.

This is easily the ugliest Jeep-based vehicle ever. Worse than any Jeepney I've seen.
The front end is just so afterthought it's not even funny. At least the XJ's front end looked like the rest of the box the thing came in. This just looks like somebody glued a snowshovel to the front of an XJ and grafted some mutated WJ headlights to it.

Its in the back. I see the commanders have some sort of handle along the sides. But I own one, and I couldnt tell the diff at a glance. Especially when they are facing one way. They really dont look much bigger.

I was going to post the exact same thing. I own a KK and I've been caught a couple of times thinking a Commander is a KK. On the other hand I don't usually mistake a KK for a Commander. The Commander is a little beefier, and has those grab handles at the back (which I have to say I'd like, although what I'd ever use them for...) but beyond that, I don't see much difference unless they're side by side.
