Does anyone with a service manual have the part number for the washer that goes between the upper strut nut and strut plate? i remember a post a while back with a parts schematic for KJs on some coloroad 4x4 forum, but can't find it. I think i have it book marked at home. If anyone has that too it would help. thanks |

thanks guys, the dealership called it a retainer...and said a week and a half to get it in. Rockauto only had them with the strut plate set. I went to home depot and got some grade 8 washers, so hopefully that is a good substitute. |

Since I don't have the dust boots on, after time, the bottom stem cushion would press it way down the strut shaft. This would cause the shaft to knock hard against the strut plate....loudly!!! and squeak too. So I just needed a washer to keep the stem cushion from compressing down the shaft. The washers I got are as wide as the stem cushion, so it should be ok. |
