I am thinking about making a light bar for my KJ, Im going to mount it where the roof rails bolt, since I dont have them anymore. Ill run a 1"x1" square tube across the roof but I need some ideas on the sides where it bolts down at, I dont want to just do all 1x1 straight up and across I think it would look too bland.

any ideas?? or sketches?

Why don't you have roof rack anymore?

You could try a concept that is kinda like a steel roof rack, e.g. like RL's, but instead extend the horiztonal longitudinal outermost members toward the front. By tieing these extensions together with an element parallel and above the top of the windshield, then you could mount lights to it, kind of like the custom roof rack in this thread. Just a thought. Please keep us apprised.

I built my roof rack like that, but I took it off b/c it hurt my MPGs pretty bad, I might add one once I finish re-gearing the Jeep.
