been there as well...been to every major and minor parts store, box stores any where that sells any automotive, even called several places up to 70 miles away, all I got was "Duh...we have this stuff here that says it works in all different cars, so I guess it will work" "Never heard of what you are talking about" Oh for the good old days when people in parts stores knew as much as most mechanics |

NAPA is the only place that carries it here. AutoZone had it for a while. |

You all need to start educating the newer Chrysler vehicle owners(and Ford) about using the correct coolant since that "universal" coolants(and that includes Amsoil) can and will destroy your waterpump. |

I went to Pep Boys and Advance AND Auto Zone. None of them had the HOAT or the G05. All they had was the "universal" stuff. So, I went to the dealer, much to my dismay and the service guy said he'd never heard of "HOAT", then asked if I was talking about the "red stuff". "Yup", I said, it's the "red stuff". So $27 later (GRRRR) |

No!!!! The "red stuff" is Dexcool, DON'T USE IT!!! The coolant you need is HOAT (Hybrid OAT), only company that makes it is Valvoline (Zerex) otherwise you need to buy it from the dealer. The color should be yellow. |

I know the Zerex coolant is yellow, but isn't the Mopar coolant reddish? I remember way back when, thinking I was leaking tranny fluid and it was the OEM coolant. Pep Boys carries the Zerex coolant around here. Or did the last time I needed some. |

Zerex discribes the Chrysler color as orange and Ford as Yellow then there's John Deer Nobody calls it red or pink From their site. http://www.valvoline.com/pages/products ... product=10 What vehicles use Zerex G-05 in the factory fill and what is the dye color? 1984 Mercedes and beyond (light yellow) 1990 Deere and Company vehicles and beyond (green) 2001 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep and beyond (orange) 2002 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury trucks and SUVS and beyond (yellow) 2003 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury automobiles and beyond (yellow |

Same problem around here finding it. No one has it. NAPA didn't have it on the shelf and I forgot to ask when I was there last. Last time I was at the dealer getting a couple of nutzerts I asked and it was around $22.xx a gallon if I remember right.....and I was thinking at that price it is almost $50 to do a flush since you would need to get 2 ...........geeeez |

The color should be yellow. My factory coolant was not yellow, it was red...The stuff I bought from the Dodge dealer was the same color as the stuff in my overflow tank since I bought the Jeep new. Why would a Dodge dealership have Dexcool anyway? It's a GM product. Quote: otherwise you need to buy it from the dealer.
I did buy it from the dealer... |

Hmm. I'm gonna stick with reddish. Never bought coolant from the dealer, but I'd think their "red stuff" ought to say HOAT somewhere on the jug. |
