My Liberty has over a 100,000 miles and is time for spark plugs and wires. Any sugestions about what to get? |

do you have the 4 cylinder? If not the wires are very hard to find, no wait they are impossible since there are none ! 
6 coil packs on top of each plug, and 100,000 and never changed plugs ?????????  you are 60,000 at least over due
forget going high tech plugs, normal autolites (platium) / NGKs etc are about the best |

I have the 6 cylinder, I thought that with the newer vehicles it was about 100,000 miles. Is it hard to change them? |

you have to look at each manufacture and each model different. some dodges have platinums but some have copper core plugs. the 3.7L comes from the factory with ngk copper core plugs, that at max are good for 30,000 miles. you should see a BIG improvement when you replace them with new ones! mike |

It has been sluggish lately, That could be the problem. Is it hard to change them out? |

Not trying to scare you or anything, but if you haven't done the plugs in 100,000 miles...I sure hope they haven't seized into the heads. Next time, it should be replaced 25-30,000 miles. AutoLite Platinums are a good plug to use, that is what I'm running. Bosch single platinums are another good one. Don't use those plugs that have more than one electrodes on them (i.e., +2, e3, +4, etc...) Make sure you do them in the morning when the engine has sat a long while. Use anti-seize when installing the new plugs, the gap is written on the radiator support. Clean and apply some die-electric grease on the coils and sure the o-rings and springs inside the coils are there and in good condition. Replace the damaged ones. |

Not hard at all to do 20 minutes or so, all you need is a 10mm socket to remove rhe little nuts from the coil pack, pull them straight up out, R&R plug and reinstall coil pack on each. Your plugs I am sure will be tight in there though so it may take some time You will notice a HUGE difference when you do it, I notice a difference and change mine every 25,000 |

I will add one thing: after you pull the coil off, grab an air compressor and blow all the dirt out of the tube before you take out the plug. This will prevent dirt from falling into the cylinder. We just bought our '06. I pulled a couple plugs to see if they needed to be replaced, and there were Bosch Platinums that looked nearly new. For anyone who runs these plugs in this engine: how long do they usually last? |

I did mine @ 36000. They were shot. I replaced with the autolite platinums. Took about 30 min total to change, but I recommend getting a swivel and an extension to do the last one. My Libby ran much better.

Get some anti-seize to put on the threads, did mine at 30K and 60K, currently have the Bosch Platinum II. |

icefisher.....they are not as hard as you think. I changed mine and was apprehensive at first because I never dealt with the coil packs before. I pulled the first one off and when I looked down in there where the plug was, it was brand-new clean and shiney. I noticed the coil pac's had an o-ring seal and also a rubber top seal so they seal up real good. When I put the coil paks back in I put a little silicone on the o-rings on the coil pack and then put them back in. I also put a little anti-sieze on the plug threads as was mentioned. When you put the new plugs in just snug them up+1/4 turn. They have a sealing lock washer on them. |
