Hey guys,

I have an 03 Renegade with the full options package including lightbar and roof rack "tupperware". I do NOT have the crossbars for the roof rack though (previous owner lost them).

I need to move an extension ladder from one house to another.. can I put any weight on the plastic that is up there? Or is it just for show?

i found it too flimsy on mine, and ended up replacing it with a proper basket. If you dont have the crossbars, i would not count on it for too much. You are better off taking off the tupperware altogether and just attaching the ladder to the roof-rails directly

Don't do it!! Get some cross bars or even make some or stick the ladder thru the back window in worse case scenario. That tupperware will scratch up your roof.

Agreed. No support and that thing will crack. I sold mine and the cross rails (and mounts) and got a metal roof basket and Yakima rails with mounts.

you might be able to see it to your local dealer, b/c a guy here at my college had one and got almost full value!

if not there, you can definitely sell it on e-bay, b/c normal people (NON LOST'ERS) do not know how flimsy they are.

and i completely agree, make some crossbars, like many have, which are very inexpensive and strong, and get a roof rack. i have the Black Widow Roof Rack and I love it!!!

or you could get the best rack out there and get a Rock Lizard Basket, but I think the site is down right now.

I'm using this idea to create some crossbars.

Found these while searching the net yesterday:

Auxiliary light bracket

...if you want to add to some lights....
