Post subject:  Water tight electrical connector?

Here's an issue I could use some feedback on:

My license plate is mounted on a holder in the middle of my spare. It has to be removed to get the spare off. Since I am doing a 5 tire rotation at 3000 mile intervals and I drive ALOT, I need to rotate my tires about 6 weeks. The issue is that the only way that I have come up with to keep the spade connectors clean and dry is to wrap the wire and connectors in rubber tape. This then has to be cut off before I can get the connectors apart to remove the license plate holder and then the spare. I want to simplify this process by installing some kind of water tight connectors. I have two ideas on this currently; 1) find some kind of connector to replace the inline connectors that are currently on there. 2) Install some kind of socket and plug type of connection with the socket being installed in the spare tire carrier and the plug on the wire from the holder (a 3rd option is to just run without a license plate light, but Vegas cops can be a bit "temperamental" sometimes so I would prefer another solution).

So here are the requirements: must be water tight, must be relatively easy to connect and disconnect and must not be prohibitively expensive.

Okay, fire away!

Yea, those are the ones that are on there now. The original owner had them wrapped and I didn't think it needed to be so I left them unwrapped. The first time I went through a car wash it blew the fuse. Even if I could find some kind of a sleeve to roll over them I think they would be fine. Thanks for the input though!

Get the connectors for hooking up trailer lights. The flat type.

I located the vendor (NTI) for the FCI Apex 2.8mm, weather tight connectors used elsewhere on the vehicle. $25 minimum order. Can order with a credit card, but requires a shipping account. (Easy to set one up at UPS.com). Here's a picture of it connecting the Omega sensor.
