well I believe Jeep calls it alifetime filter but I dont think it would hurt it to replace it but you will need to pull up all of the carpet in the cargo area to get to the acess hole |

I was told that it is a lifetime fuel filter and there was no need to "ever" replace it |

My understanding and in my Hanes Book, not all Liberties have the hatch, some you have to drop the tank. My dealer says they don't change them unless they have to change the fuel pump. ??? |

There is no such thing as a lifetime fuel filter, even the filters in the KJ need to be changed.I'm at 65,000 miles and have changed mine twice already, every 30,000 miles like the norm for fuel filters.I do not have the access hole in my KJ so I must drop the tank at least 4" to get access to the filter,it sits just on the front edge of the gas tank(on top). The hardest part now is getting the Kilby gas tank skid and RL bumber off. I have only found the filter at the dealership, paid about $120-$130 each time for it. |

well i don't want to have to drop the skid and the rear and then pay $120, so i guess i'll leave it until it has a problem. |
