If you have a front hitch reciever you can use the same one.

Used tow hooks in the for sale section:

FYI - As for tow hooks (especially front), don't be mislead by people claiming their hooks work on a KJ if they're not Mopar OEM hooks. (note; if there are aftermarket hooks that work, I am not aware of them).

Good point. You need the fancy "M" shaped braket from MOPAR. You could always make your own....just do a search for tow points stronger than the libby..

Im really not understanding the point of changing your Factory tow hooks on the KJ for Clevis loops or D rings. for one it is easier to thro the snatch strap on a hook fitted in the front then looping it thru a d Ring. Second when pulling someone out it should be done by pulling from the rear of the KJ and agreed on the rear of the KJ a D ring would be very usefull . but in the front. No insult to anyone please!! but why would you want to remove your tow hooks, go buy parts, build something that was not designed to go there in the first place and then chop your facia in the front on the kj, and again everyone has different tates but to me it dont look so good...totally out of place. the only time I would even consider using D rings would be on a ARB Bumper. Just a thought. :)

There is nothing on the front of my bumper so what ever i choose to put in the front i will end up cutting a hole for it to fit (i think) i was thinking of putting a front hitch receiver also

I had no hooks on my 03 at either end so for me it was buy hooks or buy a front hitch and back in 04 the Draw-tite front hitch was available and was only about $40 more than the hooks. I have seen hooks bend in rescues, I have not seen quality d-rings or Hitches break in rescues. At that time it was a no brainer. These days when hitches are two piece jobs or homemade it might not be such a no brainer. But either way it should be about getting the best quality items that you can get as cheap usually only leads to problems.

There are grooves in the bumper skin that was designed to be cut out for factory tow hooks (at least mine had them). 5 minutes with a utility knife and it looks like it came from the factory with hooks in place. I prefer D rings for the simple fact that the strap can't slide off during recovery. I have only been pulled out once from the front and we had to "rock" it a bit to get it over the obstacle and the strap would fall off when the tension was relaxed. This was more of a nuisance than a real problem. They functioned fine and in a different situation (different angles with the two vehicles and such) I think it would have stayed on. I just wish someone made a shackle bracket that would bolt up like the OEM two hook mounting holes. I don't think that I will change them at this point even if I found a good way to do it. The hooks work and I can't justify a bumper with shackle mounts right now so I will be content for now.

you are correct in the fact that hooks will bend, but if you think about it anything will bend , I have seen 8000, 10,000lb winches fly off a third class front receiver, but there are people out there that say it would never happen. My point is that "Recovery" to me is an art, beleive it or not. Its not just throwing a snach strap to someone and tug away. when done properly nothing should break or bend, can it break? A good quality Strap should be flexible enough to take most of the load. as far as the front shackles, its up to ones taste. two 5000lb tow hooks in the front of mine has done the job for me time and time again, I carry a rear insert in the back with a D ring, and I also have another 5000lb hook under the rear drivers side attached to the Tow Hich. Beleive it or not I have used that hook more than the D ring. Its easier and faster to engage and again if the pull is premeditated, nothing should break. I respect your opinion, and both will do the job :D
