Did you look in the small little slot above the glove box when you open it for the manual? |

If you are in 4x4 Low (4-Low), do not go over 25 mph. If you are in 4x4 Full Time, no limit. If you are in 4x4 Part Time, no limit Except the limit that the Jeep goes. I have never tried to see what its max speed is. |

also do not have it locked in on dry pavement and go down the road at 105MPH |

I would say 55mph for 4x4 FULL TIME and 4x4 PART TIME. If you can exceed that speed you really don't need it. Don't use PART time on dry asphalt, use FULL time instead. |

Why is it "setup" to go bang/redline if you go faster? Would their be a reason to go faster? |

Not entirely true, Tom. I have crawled well over 30' on my hands & knees as the bar had closed and I couldn't find my car..... |

In places where you'd need 4LO, you typically don't want to go fast 1. Right next to a really big boulder, nope, don't wanna go fast there 2. On steep hill climb, sandy, rocky, close to the edge of cliff, nope, don't wanna go fast there It's not really "set up to go bang" per se, it's just that it's geared so low to give you more torque. |

From the Jeep website: 1. Can I shift into 4WD High Range at any speed? Shifting into 4WD High Range can be made with the vehicle stopped or in motion. If the vehicle is in motion, shifts can be made up to 55 mph (88km/h). 2. How fast can I drive in 4WD Low Range? Do not exceed 25 mph (40 km/h). http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/faqs/ |

Maximum Carnage wrote: Why is it "setup" to go bang/redline if you go faster? Would their be a reason to go faster? Its not setup to go bang, thats just the limits of the Jeep in 4low. Ive heard it will stretch the chain in the tcase backed with running a stupid amount of rpms. Personally I dont like to go very fast at all in part time since you can only use part time when the roads are totally covered in ice, snow, etc. Ive yet to need part time on 'roads' though. Ive went well over 70mph in full time. tommudd wrote: Hey Commando where did my post go? Maximum Carnage wrote: Why is it "setup" to go bang/redline if you go faster? Would their be a reason to go faster? When in part time 4wd your F/R driveshafts are forced to turn at the same speed though your F/R diffs are slightly geared differently(the front spins just a tad faster then the rear) and this binding on wet/dry pavement will make stuff go BANG.
