So i got my lift on, eddo dont you say a thing! I got the rear on in less than 30min, man it looks so good. I went to the front and im flying through it again, i get the passenger spring out and put the new one in and bolt it up. I couldnt figure out what was going on? the nut would not go back on the bolt that goes through the cleavis to hold it onto the lower A arm. well, i get to looking at the nut and the threads are killed. no biggie, i ran out to a hardware store and got the nut, get home to realize i had been putting the upper ball joint bolt on the cleavis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(the threads are the same size, just different threads if that makes sense?) Ran back out to the hardware store and got more nuts but they dont fit, and i really do not want to be using and bolts that are not grade 8's on the ball joints. And it didnt have the plastic in the nut so they gave me a lock washer. I would of probably died using their bolts anyway. So what do i do?!? Im going to call the dealership tomorrow but i know they will try to sell me the whole upper a arm with the ball joint and all. So i am asking, please, if the dealership does not have the nut, could anyone mail me a spare bolt if they had one? If you can, i will send you a pm saying if i can get it from the dealer so you dont have to send it. also what size is that nut? thanks so much guys!! |

So are you just needing a spare upper ball joint nut. I have tons of them if that is all you need. The upper and lower ball joint nuts are the same. let me know and I can help with this. Later...Clint I was not sure on the message you posted. The upper and lower ball joints have nuts...The clevis has a bolt. I am thinking that you are just needing the ball joint nuts...is that correct? |

well, i tried to put the nut that goes on the upper ball joint on the bolt that holds the clevis into the lower control arm. its the same size, but the threads were different. i didnt find that out until it was to late. So yes, thats all im needing is the nut that goes on the upper ball joint. It didnt hurt any of the threads though, just killed the nut. So yes, all i need is the nut. Where did you find all of yours? Ill get back to ya after i call the dealership. thanks man! |

You should be able to get by with a 14mm nut with 1.50 threads and a lock washer on the ball joint til you can get the lock nut. |

yup, i got 2 from them just incase i ever need it again. Lift looks great eddo, thanks for everything man. Ill post some pics in alittle while. I took it for a test drive and got a loud clunk from the front when i went over the first big bump. I went over it again and it didnt to it, just the first time. I think it was just the front springs getting seated or something? I need to go back over all the nuts and bolts to make sure everything it tight. I checked everything twice though, even found a loose bolt on a back shock. Ill be going to class in a few hours, there are speed bumps everywhere so ill see if i can get it to clunk again. |
