well i was driving last night to get more anti freeze when all the sudden my power steering goes out as well as alternator and battery begin drain. So when I was putting on the new serpentine belt i discovered the tensioner was destroyed, actually just one pulley but its a hundred for the whole set up so i went to the dealership and ordered it today should be here tomorrow morning hopefully. Any hint for putting on the new belt i had a real hard time just trying last night before i noticed the pulley. PLease help this is terrible. |

After installing the new tensioner just use a 15mm socket/ratchet on the upper pulley to relieve some of the slack and install the belt much easier, only turn in a clockwise motion like the pic below.

Not sure which of your pulley's went but I had a tensioner pulley seize and when it did the mount shattered a few months ago (actually on my way to the dlr for an oil change) and the parts and labor was approx $250 when I was through. My belt was ok so I saved about $40 there. If I'd gone in as soon as I heard the whining I probl would have saved over $150! |

I just replaced mine last weekend while doing the power steering pump. Easiest part of the whole job was the tensioner and belt. One bolt for the tensioner and a whole minute to route the belt. Cake. Now the Rest of my job w/ the PS pump, etc. was a little more of a PITA but not real bad after getting the proper size wrench and spanner wrench. |

I'm keeping the original tensioner and belt as back ups for my trail spares. |
