Well my jeep has thrown P0542. All I know is that it is an emission code. I have reset the code and it came back today so I know it probably should be looked at by the dealer as I have no clue about emissions systems. Unless this is just some sensor I can change then I could probably do it my self. Also my Jeep has been getting bad mileage. 8.7-9.2 I believe part is because it is all city driving and 4 wheel part time 95% of the time. But any help to what this code could be and how to fix it would be nice.

I doubt that this is it, but I'd check it anyway before taking it to the stealership. Check the hoses in front of the gas tank, right above the rear differential. They usually throw a different code (for a gross evap leak). But I think mine may have thrown that code also when I had one with a leak in it. They are rubber lines and they dry out and split on LOT's of KJ's. There are some that are ony a short 4 or 5" connector. I replaced mine for about $5 and had enough hose left to relocate my diff breather to the gas cap door.

I believe that one is the minor evap leak. I had that and 0445 which was major evap leak.
Search this site for those codes, there are a few threads with pics of the hoses to change. You should also check the solenoid in front of the battery and all the rubber hoses that connect to it. I had been chasing this code for weeks. I replaced all the hoses at the canister in front of the gas tank and reset the computer then the code came back. Finally just bought the solenoid figuring it prob was that and the light has been off for a couple weeks now. That was prob it. Solenoid was only $40 from Auto Zone too. They had to order it but that only took a couple of days.

Hope this helps
Josh

P0452 Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Low Input

First, make sure your gas cap is on tight. Then pull the negative terminal of your battery to reset the computer (erase code, this will also clear your radio preset and clock) or take it to any auto parts store and they will use an OBDII machine to clear it out.

If it comes back then start checking the hoses around the fuel tank area. Check for cracked or broken hoses.

Already cleared the code once at autozone and it came back today. So I know something is wrong I haven't really had the time/want to go check plastic hoses with the temps still in the single digits hahaha

For anyone's curiosity, I used a used one from junkyard for $5 when my Jeep kicked up a P0452. If you want a new one, it's as follows: 2004-2006 Jeep Liberty Leak Detection Pump - Dorman 310-500
After I changed this, code went away. I earlier had changed the sensor that is located on left side of battery (facing engine). I hope this helps. And it only takes two tools to change it out.
