For those of you who saw the JBA headers in Al's newsletter, what do you think?
It says they fit 2003-2005 :? Why not 2006-2007 or is that an error?

I would love to know what the true performance gains would be. They are sure pricey for the Little gains I would suspect they will give on a stock engine.

That said, I have an engine project in the works for next year, set of heads to work on already in the garage, and shopping for a short block now. I'll be looking into cam profiles, pistons, etc, etc. to add performance gains. Headers and new exhaust system to match will be in the works too along w/ computer tuning upgrades as needed. Gotta talk to that kylib guy for sure.

So what's the difference between these and the headers that he has been producing for the past couple of years?

I’d like to see Dyno results. There would be a marginal increase in HP, TQ, and mileage, but how much is questionable.

Im not sure that these are a direct bolt on for 03s and 04s. I thought the flanges on the CATs were different which would mean you would have to fabricate some way to attach them. Anyone know more about that?

Thats only on the 2002's. Just a guess but I would assume that applies to kj's with the 45rfe since they changed the exhaust when they put the 42rle in.

Should be good to go on the 04's. Hope to get a set of these this summer if I hear they make a difference. Wonder if they would make the flowmaster sound better?

Doh, I have a 45rfe, I guess i could weld new flanges on that would fit to a high flow cat

You're in the same boat as me. I have a set of the headers in a box that no one around here will custom install until my cats are out of warranty. I've got a 3k miles or 5 months until I hit 80k miles or 8 years. I'll be replacing the cats and gettting the headers installed this summer. They're not really going to make all that much of a difference unless you've done a lot of other things.

Just FYI-

Had an '03 KJ in the shop this weekend. Had a 45RFE in it, AND a different exhaust than other 03+ KJs I've seen, AND different from my '02.

KJ's with the 45RFE trans could have 1 of 4 different exhaust systems installed. The biggest thing with the JBA headers is the manifold flange style, the JBA's have the 2 bolt style which is not compatible with any of the systems with a 45RFE trans since they use a band clamp style.
