While removing the airbox, I broke the plastic breather hose (p/n 53013723ab).

Any opinions on replacing the brittle plastic with a larger diameter rubber hose and fittings?

I believe the part from the dealer is $22, but I could rig/rout rubber hose cheaper than that.

The problem is the bend.As the pre-bent hose heats up nothing changes.A straight piece of hose will crimp from the heat and flow will suffer.

If you're worried about the bend, go to Lowes and hit their fitting section i.e. where they have all the smaller rubber hoses, and get a 90* plastic bend with barbed ends.
