I have a 2004 Liberty. Can anyone tell me if a ‘05 or newer transfer case skid plate will fit my jeep? If there is any drilling, or other fabrication involved please try to be as specific as possible. Thanks!

I think it does require some drilling to make it fit.

drilling of the frame or the skid plate? Has anyone done this and made it work. And if so does it fit well or just OK?

Most of the folks who have done it have drilled the frame then used carriage bolts (3 1/2 or 4" I believe) thru the frame. Been a while since I've been under mine but I think there are only two holes that will line up properly, one on the front and one on the rear. I went ahead and drilled a hole in my skid so I could use the other rear mount but in retrospect I think going thru the frame would be a better solution.

I just drilled through the frame and bolted them on, not a problem and still hanging on there!
