Well, went looking for a fmr for my Lib.

Found the Hidden Hitch, and well it is easier to install, but I do not like how it bolts together... Probably strong, but I plan to build a bumper off of it and wanted a solid piece to start with...

Then found Drawtite, and it was perfect for me!!! all solid.... then today my vendor calls and said it was no longer available not to be built anymore... There were 2 left when we were on the phone, but by the time the order was placed, they were gone.

So we did some research... Draw tite and Reese have merged, so we looked there, and bang there is the same thing only it has Reese's chrome ring on it.

So if you want a one piece fmr (you will need to remove the bumper cover for this install vs hidden hitch just slide it in then bolt the center) look at the reese one part number 13542.

Just figured I would let ya all know.

Post subject:  I have the reese...

last fall, ordered off the internet after reading a post on here....its a solid unit and requires the removal of the front grill and bumper plastic....you also have to pop loose a couple plastic rivets on each of the front fender flares near the front bumper....the reese kit provides a half dozen or so plastic rivets for reassembly.....

it's not that bad of a job....takes a couple hours.....

I only joined in here because I'm interested in the idea of building a bumper around the hitch as mentioned by the policeman....what are you considering doing....I was thinking of some kind of tube frame making use of the center plastic from the stock bumper....I want a light weight bumper that retains some of the original look...

smittybilt-style

thanks
