The length is okay, but not sure about the 48" width? Guess you'll have to go outside and measure your roof rails.

yeah, you definitely want the Mule not the Mega Mule unless you like your rack sticking way out over the sides. I almost bought 1 of these but opted for the Black Widow to save some $$$$ I may get this one yet someday. Yakima has a similar one that is about the same size but the sides are straight and not arched.

or just throw a couple hundred more for a real rack all in one, don't have to worry about how to mount it, very strong and built to last

I can't take Jeep advice from somebody with mud flaps on a Jeep

I like the rack but wished it had a front and back to the cargo area. I reserve the right to change my mind though

We're offering our rack with front and rear welded crossbars and with movable crossbars. We've got an order for one with welded crossbars that will be done in a couple weeks. I could make a 3D CAD photo if you wanted to see it now. I'll have pictures of my movable ones mounted on mine in a day or two. I'm hip deep in wiring ATM and still need to assemble them.

Personally I think the price is pretty good, but I know what goes into them.

Build thread here, page 5 has pics.

48" width is fine for mounting. Same size as my Defender Rack. It will hang over the rails a bit, but stays even with the body of the Jeep.

I got this one: 48" x 37-1/2" x 4" but you can get an extention.

http://www.etrailer.com/pc-rola-cargo~59504.htm

Sides keep everything in, just showing an option may not be what you want/like. and its pretty tall on the KJ.

I don't have the extention, and it not extending all the way to the front seems to keep the lights from glaring off the hood.

Home painted rims per LOST instructions also. VIVA LOST! :)

I like that rack. Its just I want tall(er) sides, ie: the 7.25" on the Bajarack. But will 4 or 5" keep luggage secure and not fall out when doing a turn?

I was also looking into this rack:

My old rack was 4 inches high, I hauled suitcases that were over a foot tall on it and no problems. Even had 3 MTRs on Moabs up there! Of course you do have to strap anything down you put up there:shock:
