| Post subject: | Crappy Dealer? |
Howdy guys - I wanted to post this to see, mostly, if I could possibly be wrong about this dealer... I just started working in Summit county CO - and so I called up Vista Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler in Silverthorne to see about 30K service, wheels and tires for my KK, and 12K service and wheels for my Ram 2500. The first time I called, it was on a sunday, and I figured I'd just get voicemail with basic info - mostly I wanted to know if they were on the closing dealer list... Someone picks up the phone with "This is Tracy"... I manage to confirm that I've actually called the dealer and am told they are closed... OK - are you on the closing dealer list? No. Okay - I'll call back during the week. So I call again today and get transfered to service... Service seems suprised that I'm calling to see if lunch is a good time for me to come down to meet the service manager, and talk to someone about wheels/tires. I get "uh, sure, lunch is fine." So I drive down there - the service dept is empty except for one guy sitting behind a desk... He sort of mumbles "you need something?".. Uh yeah, I give him the brief run down of why I'm there and ask to speak to the service manager... "Oh, I guess that's me... You need to call 4 days in advance for service." I kind of look around the empty shop... He goes "It's hit or miss in the summer". Dude doesn't introduce himself, no card, no nothing... I ask him about wheels/tires.. "Oh, that's parts, down there.." and he sort of points in the direction of a door to the dealership. OK, thanks. So I go into the dealer - it's also devoid of customers... I go up to parts - there's a woman behind the desk reading a paper. She doesn't work in parts... So I press the button for parts service. About 10 mintues later some dude walks out and tells me it'll be at least an hour before someone can help me. I say, sure, no problem... and of course, turn around and leave. To me, I see every single possible sign of a dealer who will screw me over at every opportunity and couldn't possibly care less if my vehicles get the service they need. Of course the kicker is that the next nearest dealer is 35 miles away, and the guy I've been using is about 75 miles away. Has anyone had an experience with these guys that is different than this? |

Nice post. I think this would be better posted in the Regional Section. BUT... I have seen seen this beofre, but it does not surpise me 1 bit. I would contact the dealer 35 miles away... Talk with them over the phone before driving. Get names and appoints before hand. This dealer is bad. I would stay away from them at all cost. There is no way it takes 1 hour to help some one. and call 4 day in advance for service is a fricken joke... it sounds like they higher Temp workers and contract out the jobs. This is pure crap... they should not be a dealer.. |

It certainly doesn't sound like the 5 star dealership that I visit routinely (and loyally). Given a choice, I'd say don't go there. Go anywhere but there. Don't get me wrong, it could be the homiest, folksiest, bestest bunch of folks out there, but it seems all wrong on the surface. |

Sounds like they have zero customer service at that place. I would stay away from them. |

customer dissss-service, with so many people out of work and dealers closing, you would think that someone in that stealership would care, I wonder who or where the owner of that place is and I always wonder how some places stay in business with people and attitudes like that. There's a saying...if you get good service you tell 2 people, if you get bad service you tell everyone!! Good luck with the other dealerships I hope it's better than those guys. |

Hey bro atleast post what dealer it is so no one else in your area ends up going back their that is rediculous.. I guess I am lucky my jeep dealership is awesome, ofcourse they love it whenever I come in I think I have the only modified liberty in spokane washington, well almost I did see one last summer with an ARB bumper. But anyways the guys at the dealership always try to help me out and usually give me some parts for free like those stupid plastic clips that cost 2-5$ ea. But anyways its almost worth it to drive 75miles, I would call your trusted dealer and tell him your situation and see if he can cut you a deal for driving so far... |

Hey bro - the dealer's name is even in bold. RTFT. Good idea about trying to get the other guys to spot me a deal. Although, now that I think about it, I could chew through even a pretty good deal just buying the gas to get down there. Thanks for the comments everybody.. I guess my hope of being wrong about this has been suitably dashed. Not sure what I'll be doing next, but I know what I won't be doing. If I have to go down to Denver just for this garbage, that would sure frustrate the doo doo out of my... |

Couldn't be. They didn't make him stand in line for 2 hours to take a number to find out what day next week he could call to make an appointment to come in to see someone about setting up a meeting to schedule service next year. This is definitely private enterprise! |

Hey Digger - I really apreciate the offer... You sure you want to bore yourself to death with the normal 30K inspections and maintenance? I'd be up for it as I'd have to drive down there anyway, and they don't let me drink beer in the dealership.... |

What dealer does not let you drink beer while they take your money.. See that is your first sign of a bad dealer.. Go to Digger Jeep.. it is worth the drive. But bring extra drinks.... |

As someone who works darn hard for the government I resent the hell out of that comment...what does this have to do with a privately owned dealership? If you don't like the government in this country, catch a plane! |

If you don't like the government in this country, catch a plane! x9,364 Sounds more like Canadian healthcare (BTW, we all work for the gov't...just FYI) At any rate, to the OT part. That kind of service would get a guy fired with ThunderbirdJunkie's company. Why bother going to a dealer like that? There are tons of independent and chain shops that would LOVE to have your business, and they will show you that. Or have Digger work on your Jeep. ThunderbirdJunkie hears he can be paid with amphetamines and AMSoil... |

I'd rather come to you - at least this time. I fix computers and other electronics, not cars. Figure I have the aptitude for it, but have never done anything more than change oil/tires and do stereo installs. Maybe next Friday, 6/5? Or Saturday 6/6? I can come down there any time - but early would be better. What's your favorite alcoholic beverage, besides dragster-fuel? |

Saturday the 6th is fine, I will drop you a pm in just a minute |
