So this morning I turned the key.....nothing. Noticed that the radio display had gone to 12:00. Had to go to work.....after work I tried a couple of things narrowed it down to a bad ground connection. I got her fired up, but now no radio. Nothing, no display can't eject cd or tape. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Does it need to be reset some how? please help. It's the stock radio/cd/tape in a '02 |

When you disconnect the battery the radio goes into anti-theft mode... Have you tried switching it on ( pushing the volume knob ), then it will say 'code'... Then you enter your 4 digit code, press FM and presto, it's alive again. Hope you have the code! ( should be handwriten in the owners radio manual) Hope this helps! |

I had this problem a little while ago too, do you notice any other electrical faults. Power windows / door locks working intermittent, things like that. My radio would just randomly cut out for a period and come back on with the 12:00 all presets wiped. Any way long story short it turned out to be a bad Body Control Module "BCM." If you've already checked fuses you can pull the head unit, that's not hard, and just wiggle all the wires (or shoot them with an OHM meter) to check for a short or loose wire. Otherwise I'd get the BCM checked. |

Every thing else is working just fine. I have tried the on/off and I get nothing. No code, no power to the head unit at all. I pulled all of the the fuses that have anything to do with the stereo with no results. i'm stumped. blown fuse in the head unit? |

Lol, you just made me check. I pulled my stock radio from my jeep not long ago and upgraded it, I had to check the back and they don't have a head unit fuse on the back like most aftermarket ones do. Unless the fuse is inside the casing ( I doubt it) it's either the wiring, or quite possibly just a bad head unit. Believe me it's not unheard of stock stereo components going bad. Did you try the security reset like tony recommended? Re -reading your first post makes me question, what "bad ground" were you talking about, was it the post ground on the battery terminal? |

yes. post terminal on the battery. radio worked on the first few attempts of starting the libby. I noticed that the display stopped working after a few tries and never came back on after I found the problem. |
