I am getting a little frustrated with the jeep. Everytime on a highway merge go to step on it the jeep studders a bit I am thinking fuel filter with 145 000 km on the clock it is prob time. Just when I step on it is shudders but not not all the time. Any write up on changing fuel filter. Anyone else with some input.

last time you changed the air filter?

for changing the fuel filter it's either drop the tank, or cut through the tank access sealant under the carpet in the cargo area

check make sure all your vac lines and what not are plugged in / not broke

if you need to change the fuel filter it's not 'that' big of a deal, it's just a pita to cut through the sealant using a chisel/knife and a heat gun

I was told that those fuel filters are "lifetime" and never need to be replaced. It sounds like it's a big and expensive job just to change it. Before I'd spend money on that, I would get my injectors cleaned and/or use Gumout fuel system cleaner every 3,000 miles. Also it could be bad gas or gummed up/old spark plugs. Good luck!

they're 'supposed' to be 'lifetime' but 'lifetime' is considered 150-200k

by then evap hoses and what not are rotting and you need to get to that same area to replace them and it's not worth the trouble of less than 100 bucks for the part to get to it and just be done with having a new one

but, rudy is right, it's pretty doubtful that that's the problem
