I had my lift put on a few weeks ago. Just incase you didn't know.

Well I am driving to work today, and all of a sudden.

Bang. Bang. Bang. and then sounds of metal scraping on concrete.

So I get out and look can see anything shocks are both there. So I'm like WTH.

Then I look under the jeep and see that the bottom bolt sheered off(or fell off) I drive it kinda hard but it prob just fell off.

I also retorqued everything 500 miles after the lift was put on.

What could cause it to come loose like that?

Oh yeah, I had to drive it home cus it was only like a mile from my house and I had nothing to take the shock all the way out or tie it up so it rubbed on my tire the whole way home. I don't know how it didn't blow out half off the rubber is scraped off the back of the tire. So yeah what did I learn from this.

Always check your nuts to make sure they are there. :D

Maybe you over tightened a shock nut? I use stop nuts on my shocks and where ever I can. They don't like to fall off and I have yet to loose a nut (thank god). :-)r

Myke,

I was wondering why we had two lock washers left over  Try lock tight, the blue stuff, the other colors a really lock the nuts to the bolts! The top bolts seem to come loose more, so check those too!

Lets see I would check mine, but they have been disconnected!

Maybe the shock siezed up. I had that happen and it sheared the bottom bolt off.

Take the other one off and take it to your local hardware store, if they can't match one up, go to the dealership.
