Go to your local auto upholstry shop. Have them make a pad the approxomate shape of the lid, that is the right height, with matching upholstry. Have a couple of matching straps on either side with snaps on the end. You can either snap it to the inside of the lid (invisable when removed and allows the top to open) or on the sides of the console. Shouldn't cost too much, would look decent and would be a custom fit! 8)

Great thought, I too find myselt looking for somewhere to rest my arm, I drive with my left hand on the wheel. I am going to the Sportsman's show next weekend, Waldoch Conversions will be there. I will ask them about a mod for the center console.

That cat attack thing is too hysterical. Just goes to prove why it's bad luck when a black cat crosses your...face. :D

I'm using an attach to the window frame-elbow pad on the left side, my problem is my RIGHT elbow wich is floating because the center console is too low and too short.

So far my options are
Putting an add on console over the present console (the kind of things you finds in pep boys)

Maybe the seats from Chrysler and Dodge minivans will fit (Town & Country, Caravan) but this will cost a fortune

Ive been doing a lot of trips back and forth to NH in the past few months and realize that the KJ is an absolutly horrible car to drive long trips in. Im always massaging my left elbow from the door panel (other option is left elbow on the plastic armrest but that is too low and waaaaaay to hard), massaging my right shoulder because the center console is too low and too far to the rear, adjusting my position in the seat because there is not enough support under my legs (seat bottom doesnt extend enough), and messing with the heated seats to numb away all the pain. Grrrrrrr, good thing I dont drive far to work everyday, only 13 miles. I think what the KJ should come with is a hot little asian massuse in the backseat who will rub your sore parts and feed you sake all day!
