Hay guys my 2005 is a 6 speed, and pretty much since I got it, it's a bit of a b***H to get into 2nd gear. you have to make sure you drop it down at the right time or you can pull for minutes. Anyone have this trouble ?

when was the last time you changed the oil in it? The mopar crap is only good for 25K to 30K before most notice shifting issues........

Well, We bought it in late September and it had 85,000km on it and the dealer said it was done 10,000kms ago. Can that lead to having shifting issues in one gear ? thank you for the replay.

It helps if you pull it slightly to the driver's side as you pull it into 2nd

It really helped me when I swapped in synthetic. It uses a synchromesh fluid, which I believe is similar to 30 weight oil in viscosity, but contains properties to prevent damage to the various metals in the transmission such as copper.
Just swap out the fluid, and you probably will notice a big difference. This transmission is a tad notchy, but that is just the nature of the beast...

I am a bit confused with your symptoms....

Is the difficulty in shift going up, or down?
Is there a specific RPM and/or speed range when the difficulty occurs?
Is the clutch properly engaging/disengaging?
When was the last bleeding of the clutch slave done?

You are half right. The Mopar synchromesh is really a 5W-30 with friction modifiers. So far I have used both amsoil and royal purple. The RP has way way better cold shiftability but the amsoil shifts smother when hot (ie: high speed driving in the mountains, towing)

Well I let it ldle in the driveway for a few minutes depending on how cold is is. Now as I pull out of my driveway and shift into second I'm finding if i run the idle in first gear up to 3000 and then clutch ( tried right to the floor and everyother combination ) and pause in N for sec and clutch again and pull shifter down gently and then she seems to clicks in on the way down between 1700 and 1500 RPM. Our winters are so unpredictable anymore I have seen one day at -20 C and the next day at -2 C. So I going to try flushing and going with Royal purple, Digger seems to say that it works a little better in the cold, and hopfully that will solve the problem, for all I know it may have never been done. So Thank you very much for all your replys..
